Honeyberries

$20.00

Hardiness: zone 3-8

Also known as Haskap or edible honeysuckle. Cold tolerant small shrub but needs protection from afternoon sun in warmer climates. Will go dormant in the heat but come back the next year or when temperatures cool off. Can tolerate much more wetness and a great deal of shade more than blueberries. Very tasty tart blueberry like fruit. Blooms super early in the year, and the blooms are very hardy, not so subject to the blossom kill of late frosts that can affect blueberries.

We grow 4 varieties here, Aurora being my personal favorite. They are all early blooming cultivars. They are not very self fertile, so plant more than one for good pollination.

Aurora - large delicious fruit

Bluebelle - decent crops, medium sized fruit

Borealis - large bush, smaller fruit than aurora but copious producer, makes a great pollinator

Cinderella - medium-long fruits, smaller compact bush
